LRF-WWF Case Studies

The Landscape Resilience Fund (LRF) Case Studies report showcases how the LRF uses innovative finance to support small businesses and smallholder farmers in adapting to climate change. Through case studies in Ghana, Vietnam, and Brazil, it highlights scalable Bankable Nature Solutions that improve farmer incomes, protect biodiversity, and strengthen climate resilience. It demonstrates how public and private investment can work together to build greener, more resilient economies.

This report shows how climate adaptation can move from concept to action. Each case study demonstrates how innovative enterprises are not only protecting ecosystems but also creating more resilient livelihoods for farmers and communities. It highlights how the right mix of concessional finance, technical support, and market access can unlock new value chains, reduce climate risks, and make nature-based solutions investable at scale.

The report also provides a window into how change can be promoted at the landscape level. Examples from Vietnam and Brazil illustrate how multi-stakeholder platforms, improved governance, and stakeholder engagement are helping to create more enabling conditions for sustainable development and more resilient supply chains. While still at an early stage, these experiences show the potential of the landscape approach to bring diverse actors together and align efforts toward shared sustainability goals. These lessons point to clear opportunities for donors, investors, and policymakers to deliver both immediate impact on the ground and long-term transformation across economies and ecosystems.
